I am John Chiarpotti and I am looking forward to teaching you some of the fishing skills I have honed in my 29 years of tournament fishing and guiding. I moved to Sonora 13 years ago from the east bay where I fished and guided on the Delta. Since moving to the motherlode I have fished the area lakes extensively and have become quite familiar with the seasonal patterns and have consistent top tournament finishes. It is my mission to teach you these patterns whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro prefishing for an upcoming tournament. I will customize each trip to my client’s ability and skill level. Fishing is supposed to be a fun and learning experience no matter what the outcome. 

Some of the techniques I specialize in are deep water structure fishing, drop shotting, swimbaits and big bite topwater. New Melones and Don Pedro are fantastic places for both of these.

I also can teach you the art of shallow water weed fishing on the fish filled waters of Salt Springs Valley  Reservoir and Lake Tulloch.
